Ranch-Way Feeds

Ranch-O-Min Breeding Performance w/High Copper (Cu) is our superior, most densely fortified mineral in the Ranch-O-Min line.  This extraordinary mineral is designed to provide vitamin and mineral nutrition to replacement heifers, cows, and bulls in an effort to support optimal fertility and performance. This mineral is also ideal for early-weaned calves, developing breeding stock, show animals, and serves well in “recovery” periods (such as following periods of diet inadequacy, hauling/transporting, weaning and receiving, and other related stressors).

This is a complete, free-choice, loose mineral with a 1:1 Calcium to Phosphorus ratio, making it well-suited for balancing dormant pasture during the late summer, fall, and winter months.   This ratio is also ideal when calcium-rich hays, such as alfalfa, are being supplemented in the diet.

Benefits include:

  • Elevated copper and zinc levels to address chronic copper and zinc deficiencies in the forage, common in the High Plains and Rocky Mountain region.

  • Modest selenium levels to compensate for the elevated forage selenium that may prevail on some ranches.

  • Zinpro’s Availa® brand of organic (“chelated”) sources of Cu and Zn bound to an amino acid complex to protect against mineral antagonism, improve mineral absorption, and support immune and reproductive function.

  • Intellibond® source of Cu and Zn for improved mineral status in the cowherd.

  • Cobalt is added to support healthy rumen microbial function and B12 production.

  • Elevated iodine to support hoof health.

  • Aggressive Vitamin A fortification to offset the deficiency of Vitamin A typical of dormant and droughts-stressed forages.

  • Molasses and licorice flavoring to entice consumption.

  • Xtra-Dry weatherizing agent added to help prevent moisture damage, clumping, and leaching.

Available Sizes: 50 lb Bag or Bulk

Feed free-choice to grazing cattle.  Can also be offered to horses.  Cattle should consume 2-4 oz/head/day.  Number and placement of mineral feeders can control consumption.  If consumption is low, increase number of mineral feeders and place them near water and prime feeding areas.  If consumption is high, decrease number of mineral feeders and move them away from water the prime feeding areas.  It is advised that if cattle are starved for salt, they at they be offered plain-white salt  1 week prior to the introduction of free-choice mineral.  In some areas, where salt is low in the water and forage,  additional salt may need to be provided along with this mineral to maintain the target intake of 2-4 oz.
