ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Ranch-O-Min Spring Hi Mag 14-4 mineral blocks are designed for cattle maintained on lush, green, spring grass or small-grain (wheat, barley, and oat) pastures.  Provides elevated Calcium and Magnesium (10% Mg) and no added Potassium to help prevent the incidence of grass tetany.

Benefits include:

  • Elevated copper and zinc levels to address chronic copper and zinc deficiencies in the forage, common in the High Plains and Rocky Mountain region.

  • Modest selenium levels to compensate for the elevated forage selenium that may prevail on some ranches.

  • Zinpro’s Availa® brand of organic (“chelated”) sources of Cu and Zn bound to an amino acid complex to protect against mineral antagonism, improve mineral absorption, and support immune and reproductive function.

  • Intellibond® source of Cu and Zn for improved mineral status in the cowherd.

  • Cobalt is added to support healthy rumen microbial function and B12 production.

  • Elevated iodine to support hoof health.

  • Molasses and licorice flavoring to entice consumption.

  • Feed as the sole source of salt and minerals to grazing animals on lush spring grass pastures and small grain pastures where calcium and magnesium deficiencies may occur.  Cattle should receive this mineral free-choice at least 2 - 4 weeks prior to being placed on lush green pastures where grass tetany may be a problem.  When the high-risk tetany period is over, switch to a different Ranch-O-Min mineral that best complements the hay or pasture being fed.

Available Sizes: 40 lb Block

HOW TO FEED

Feed free-choice to grazing cattle.  Cattle should consume 2-4 oz/head/day.  Number and placement of mineral blocks can control consumption.  If consumption is low, increase number of mineral blocks and place them near water and prime feeding areas.  If consumption is high, decrease number of mineral blocks and move them away from water the prime feeding areas.  It is advised that if cattle are starved for salt, they at they be offered plain-white salt  1 week prior to the introduction of free-choice mineral.  In some areas, where salt is low in the water and forage,  additional salt may need to be provided along with this mineral to maintain the target intake of 2-4 oz.

CAUTION

Store feed in a clean environment free of moisture, rodents, insects, and other pests. Do not feed moldy or repugnant feed. This product has been formulated specifically for beef cattle and is not intended for other species.

DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP DUE TO HIGH COPPER LEVEL.
