RANCH-O-LYX 20% ALL-STOCK WRANGLER TUB
Ranch-O-Lyx 20% All-Stock Wrangler Tub (Vit A) is an economical, cooked, low-moisture, molasses-based supplement tub that is inspired by our best-selling range cake, 20% AN Wrangler Cake. The protein and energy sources of this product are derived from molasses, dried distiller’s grains with solubles (DDGS), corn gluten meal and soy oil. This tub is a protein supplement designed for self feeding situations where cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and camelids are grazed in common pastures and are offered a year-around mineral and vitamin supplement program. Feed daily to livestock maintained on medium-quality winter range (7-9% CP) that need a small boost in protein and energy. There is no vitamin or mineral fortification added to this tub formula (other than a low level of Vitamin A), therefore a salt and mineral program is necessary.
Available in a 200# tub.
Target intake is consistent and reliable when fed in accordance with these feeding directions:
Feed continuously as a protein supplement to cattle, sheep, goats, camelids and horses on pasture at the rate of one container for every 10 to 20 head, with a minimum of two containers in each lot or pasture to ensure proper accessibility. A 10-day supply of this tub may be put out at one time. The recommended consumption of this product should be 0.5 to 1.0 lb per head daily for cattle and horses, and from 2 to 4 oz per head daily for sheep, goats and camelids. Consumption will vary according to weight of the animal and the quality and amount of available forage. Make sure animals are not starved for salt or minerals prior to introducing tubs. It is critical that animals have adequate pasture or forage available to meet their energy needs (most livestock require ~1.5% of their BW per day in dry-matter intake for maintenance). If pasture and/or roughage supply is inadequate to meet the energy demands for growth, gestation, lactation, or to maintain proper body condition, then supplemental grain or roughage should be provided. This is not a complete supplement, a mineral program must be offered in addition to this tub. Provide free-choice access to plain white salt prior to and during feeding tubs. Always provide clean, fresh water.
A two-week adaptation period may be required to establish a base consumption. If consumption is low, increase the number of tubs per pasture and place containers near loafing areas and water source. Consumption can be regulated by increasing or decreasing the number of containers available to livestock. If consumption is high, decrease the number of tubs per pasture and spread containers out over a wider area. Consumption will depend on the size and age of animals fed, and will vary with the type and quality of forage available; if livestock have access to an adequate supply of forage they are not likely to over consume this product. Livestock maintained in a dry-lot or paddock scenario and/or that have limited access to forage will over-consume this product out of boredom or hunger; tubs are typically not the correct protein supplementation in these scenarios. Target intake is consistent and reliable when fed in accordance with these feeding directions.
Care should be taken to minimize additional copper from forage, water or other feed stuffs available to sheep. All multi-species feeds leave nutritional gaps due to differences in nutritional requirements of each species. When feeding this, or any other mutli-species feed, it is recommended that a species-specific mineral supplement be fed.
