ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Vital Edge is a highly fortified supplement, designed to meet the vitamin and mineral requirements of all classes of horses in a small feeding rate.  Vital Edge is ideal for horses that are sensitive to sugars and starch (contains only 5-6% NSC), are prone to being over-weight, or may be lacking in certain vitamins and minerals.  This is the lowest NSC pelleted horse feed on the market!  Vital Edge can be fed alone or mixed with grains, such as oats (to increase the energy content of the diet) and should be fed in addition to 1.0 to 2.0 % of the horse’s body weight in hay or pasture each day.  Other than free-access to white salt, no additional vitamin or mineral supplementation is needed.

 Features Include:

-Highly fortified with vitamins and minerals.

- Low in starch and calories = made with fiber-based ingredients; provides 0.75 Mcal/lb of Digestible Energy (DE).

- Probiotics (from both yeast and bacterial sources), which may enhance the digestive efficiency of the horse.

- Alltech’s organic protienated trace minerals (copper, zinc, and manganese) and organic selenium that increases trace mineral absorption and improves mineral status in breeding stock and growing horses.

- Balanced Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acid ratio (2:1), derived from flax seed and rice bran, to aid in cellular membrane function and repair.

- Added amino acids to support muscle shape and repair, plus added B-complex vitamins to promote proper immune function, hoof and skin health, and glossy hair and coat.

- Caramel flavoring and molasses to entice consumption.

 

FEEDING RATE:

Mature Horses - 1 lb / head / day (~1,100 lb horse)

Foals and Yearlings -  1/2 to 1 lb / head / day

Miniature Horses – 1/4 to 1/2 lb / hd / day
