ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Baby Calf Show Flake^®Starter 18% is a grain-based sweet feed (low in fiber) for starting baby beef and dairy “bucket-fed” calves on feed. This feed is designed to aid in the development of the calves’ small, immature rumen with a source of readily available carbohydrates (sugars and starches). An elevated protein level (18%) supports the growth and health needs of baby calves.

This feed is ideal for young bucket calves, less than 3 months of age.

HOW TO FEED

Baby calves should be given milk replacer during the first month or two of life. Ranch-Way carries a full line of milk replacers. In addition to milk, orphaned calves can be offered free-access to Baby Calf ShowFlake Starter 18% as soon as the calf will nibble dry feed(~7 days of age). Gradually increase the amount until the calf is consuming 6to 7 lbs daily. Calves can be weaned from milk replacer as soon as they are eating 2 to 3 lbs of dry feed for 3 consecutive days (1 to 2 months of age). Good quality hay can be introduced once calves show signs of a functioning rumen (chewing cud). Provide clean water at all times.

CAUTION

Store product in a clean environment free of moisture, rodents, insects, and other pests. Do not feed moldy or repugnant feed. This product has been formulated specifically for dairy cattle and is not intended for other species.

DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP DUE TO HIGH COPPER LEVEL.
