ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Rumensin M1200 Supplement is a carrier product formulated with the drug Rumensin (Monensin).  Rumensin M1200 Supplement pellets can be fed to cattle and goats.

HOW TO FEED

Cattle (confined)- For improved feed efficiency. Feed 5-30 g/ton of finished feed to provide 50-360 mg of Monensin/head/day.  Feed continuously.
Cattle (confined or semi-confined)- For the prevention and control of coccidiosis due to Eimeria bovis and Eimeria Zuernii. Feed 10-30 g/ton of finished feed to provide 100-360 mg of Monensin/head/day depending on the bodyweight of cattle.  Feed continuously during periods of exposure to coccidian or when coccidiosis is likely to be a hazard.
Cattle (pastured slaughter, stocker ad feeder cattle, dairy and beef replacement heifers)- For increased rate of weight gain. Feed 25-400 g/ton to provide not less than 50 nor more than 200 mg of Monensin/day in not less than 1 lb of feed, or after the fifth day feed at the rate of 400mg/head/day every other day in not less than 2 lbs of feed.  During the first 5 days of feeding cattle should receive no more than 100 mg/day in not less than 1 lb of feed.  Do not self-feed.
Cattle (mature reproducing beef cows on pasture or in dry lots)- For improved feed efficiency. Feed can be restricted to 95% of normal requirements when 50 mg of Monensin is fed and 90% of normal when 200 mg is fed.  Feed 50-200 mg/head/day in a minimum of 1 lb of feed and either hand feed or mix into the total ration.  During the first 5 days cattle should receive no more than 100 mg in not less than 1 lb of feed.  Do not self-feed.
Goats- For the prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria crandallis and E. christenseni, and E. ninakokohlyakimovae.  Feed 20 g/ton of complete feed.  Feed continuously as the sole ration.  Do not feed to lactating goats.

Monensin(as Monensin Sodium)........1200 g/ton

Growing cattle on pasture or in drylot (stocker and feeder cattle and dairy and beef replacement heifers): For increased rate of weight gain; For prevention and control of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zuernii.

CAUTION

A withdrawal time has not been established for pre-ruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal. Do not allow horses or other equines access to formulation containing Monensin. Ingestion of Monensin by equines has been fatal. Monensin medicated cattle feed is safe for use in cattle and goats only. Feeding undiluted or mixing errors resulting in high concentrations of Monensin has been fatal to cattle and could be fatal to goats.  Must be thoroughly mixed in feeds before use.  Do not feed undiluted.  Do not exceed the levels of Monensin recommended in the feeding directions as reduced average daily gains may result.

Store feed in a clean environment free of moisture, rodents, insects, and other pests.  Do not feed moldy or repugnant feed. This product has been formulated specifically for cattle and is not intended for other species

LIMITATIONS

For increased rate of weight gain, feed at a rate of 50 to 200 milligrams Monensin per head per day in not less than 1 pound of feed or, after the 5th day, feed at a rate of 400 milligrams per head per day every other day in not less than 2 pounds of feed. For prevention and control of coccidiosis, feed at a rate of 0.14 to 0.42 milligram per pound of body weight per day, depending on severity of challenge, up to 200 milligrams per head per day. During first 5 days of feeding, cattle should receive no more than 100 milligrams per day in not less than 1 pound of feed.
