Cattleman’s Advantage is a texturized blend of grains and supplement pellets. This feed is the economical choice for finishing calves or developing replacement bulls and heifers. Sunflower soybean hulls have been added as energy-dense sources of fiber to ensure proper rumen function when hay is being fed on a limited basis.
GROWING CALVES AND DEVELOPING HEIFERS AND BULLS: Feed as the concentrate portion of the diet at the rate of 0.5 – 1.5 lbs per 100 lbs of bodyweight per head per day. Adjust feeding rate for desired body condition. Feed along with grass hay at the rate of 20-50% of the total diet. Always provide free-choice access to Ranch-Way’s Ranch-O-Min 12-6 Summer mineral to insure the animal’s vitamin and mineral needs are met and free-choice access to white salt and fresh, clean water.
FINISHING STEERS AND HEIFERS: Feed as the concentrate portion of the diet at the rate of 1.0 – 2.5 lbs per 100 lbs of bodyweight per head per day. Adjust feeding rate for desired body condition. Feed along with free-choice access to grass hay, insuring that cattle consume no less than 10% of their total diet in hay each day. If additional condition is needed as the calf is nearing the finishing period, corn (either flaked or cracked) should be added to the diet. If the feeding rate of Cattleman’s Advantage falls below 25 lbs (or 2.5 lbs per 100 lbs of bodyweight per day), provide 1-2 oz of Ranch-Way’s Ranch-O-Min 12-6 Summer mineral to insure the animal’s vitamin and mineral needs are met. Always offer free-choice access to white salt and fresh, clean water.
It is advised that either Ranch-Way’s M1200 (Rumensin) or B1200 (Bovatec) supplements are added to improve feed efficiency, decrease the incidence of bloat, and help prevent coccidiosis. Alternatively, BeefFlake Finisher B24 can be fed.
