15% PREMIUM CALF CREEP w/ BIO-MOS & AVAILA
15% Premium Calf Creep w/Bio-MOS & Availa is our number #1 recommendation for creep feeding, weaning, and starting young calves on dry feed that weigh 250-600 lbs. This creep has the highest level of digestible fiber of any of our calf starter feeds, making it the safest creep feeding solution that Ranch-Way offers. This creep feed is packed full of the critical nutrients that young calves need to get the right start. This formula is also ideal for early weaned calves (weighing ≤ 300 lbs), immuno-stressed calves, or for starting replacement bull and heifer calves going back into the breeding herd.
Features and Benefits:
High Fiber: a high level of digestible fiber makes this creep feed the appropriate choice for delivering dry feed in free-choice feeders (and reducing digestive upset in young calves).
Elevated trace mineral levels (2.5 x’s NRC requirement) to better support the immune system’s response against the stress and disease that bombards young calves during weaning time. Improved mineral status = better response to your vaccination program = less morbidity.
Availa-4® brand of organic trace minerals (“chelated” Cu, Zn, Mn, and Co) bound to an amino acid complex to protect against mineral antagonism, improve mineral absorption, and further support immune function.
Bio-MOS: a natural yeast-based (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) product that promotes beneficial bacteria and inhibits certain pathogenic bacteria in the gut of young calves.
Yea-Sacc: Saccharomyces cerevisiae probiotic to help the small calf’s rumen develop a microbial system capable of fiber digestion and thereby enhancing dry-matter intake (DMI).
Sel-Plex: an organic source of selenium derived from yeast to help fight infection and disease.
B-Vitamins: B-complex vitamins to support immune function and hoof and skin health.
Slowly introduce at the rate of 1-3 lbs/head/day over the course of 4-7 days. Thereafter, limit-feed in creep feeders, bunk feeders or in a TMR to calves weighing 250-600 lbs at the rate of 1 lb / 100 lbs of BW / day for adequate intake of vitamins and minerals. Do not allow cattle to over consume this product or exceed 6 lbs/head/day. Early-weaned or baby calves still nursing (≤ 300 lbs), may not have fully-developed rumens, therefore it is recommended that additional grain-based starch (such as cracked corn) be blended along with these pellets until they reach 350-400 lbs (or are chewing their cud). Feed good-quality pasture or hay on a free-choice basis (calves ≥ 400 lb should consume at least 50% of their diet in long-stem fiber). Provide fresh, clean water and plain, white salt at all times. Follow directions so as to prevent digestive upset.
Store product in a clean environment free of moisture, rodents, insects, and other pests. Do not feed moldy or repugnant feed. This product has been formulated specifically for cattle and is not intended for other species.
DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP OR GOATS DUE TO COPPER CONTENT.
