RANCH-O-LYX 37-16 STALK TUB W/AVAILA
Ranch-O-Lyx 37-16 Stalk Tub w/ Biuret is a free-choice protein supplement in 200 lb. blocks. This tub is inspired by our popular Ranch-O-Block 37-16 Stalk Blocks (33.3 lbs) and is intended for cattle maintained on corn stalk fields or in situations where adequate forage + grain starch is available. Do not feed when field has been damaged (due to drought or hail) and is known to be elevated in nitrates.
This tub contains a 50:50 ratio of urea and biuret (biuret, triuret, and cyanuric acid) as a source of NPN. The slower release of the nitrogen source (ammonia, NH3) from biuret makes it a safer source of nitrogen than urea for ruminants. It is estimated that biuret is ~7.3 times safer than urea, making it ideal in protein supplements that contain high levels of NPN, especially in self-fed applications.
This tubs has complete vitamin and mineral fortification in it so that additional mineral supplementation is not required. As a rule of thumb, for every 1 lb of Ranch-O-Lyx 37-16 Stalk Tub w/ Biuret, ~3 oz of Ranch-Way’s Ranch-O-Min vitamins and minerals is provided. This feature offers convenience for supplementing cattle on corn stalks or extensive grazing situations.
Target intake is consistent and reliable when fed in accordance with these feeding directions:
The Ranch-O-Lyx 37-16 Stalk Tub w/ Biuret is intended for cattle maintained on corn stalk fields or in situations where adequate forage and grain starch is available. Initially, limit-feed at the rate of 1.0 pound per head per day for the first few days, and then feed continuously as a protein supplement at the rate of one container for every 15 to 20 head, with a minimum of two containers in each lot or pasture to ensure proper accessibility. Cattle typically consume from 0.5 to 1.5 lbs per head per day. Make sure animals are not starved for salt or minerals prior to introducing tubs. It is critical that animals have adequate forage available to meet their energy needs (most livestock require ~1.5% of their BW per day in dry-matter intake for maintenance). If forage supply is inadequate to meet the energy demands for growth, gestation, lactation, or to maintain proper body condition, then supplemental grain or roughage should be provided. Do not feed when field has been damaged (due to drought or hail) and is known to be elevated in nitrates. Provide free-choice access to plain white salt prior to and during feeding tubs. Always provide clean, fresh water.
A two-week adaptation period may be required to establish a base consumption. If consumption is low, increase the number of tubs per pasture and place containers near loafing areas and water source. Consumption can be regulated by increasing or decreasing the number of containers available to livestock. If consumption is high, decrease the number of tubs per pasture and spread containers out over a wider area. Consumption will depend on the size and age of animals fed, and will vary with the type and quality of forage available; if livestock have access to an adequate supply of forage they are not likely to over consume this product. Livestock maintained in a dry-lot or paddock scenario and/or that have limited access to forage will over-consume this product out of boredom or hunger; tubs are typically not the correct protein supplementation in these scenarios. Target intake is consistent and reliable when fed in accordance with these feeding directions.
