ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Ranch-O-Ration was designed for self-feeding applications where creep feeders are used to provide a supplemental source of protein and energy to growing/finishing beef calves or for developing bulls and heifers.  Ranch-O-Ration 80:20 Beef Conditioner contains 80% cracked corn and 20% other ingredients (that provide a source of protein, vitamins, and minerals or serve as intake limiters).

 HOW TO FEED

Offer to cattle as the concentrate portion of the diet. Ranch-O-Ration is not a complete feed; make sure cattle always have adequate pasture or roughage available.  Introduce calves to “free-choice” creep feeders on a safe, high-fiber creep feed such as our 15% Calf Creep or 14% Seedstock Rec. & Trans. Ration for 14-28 days prior to feeding Ranch-O-Ration.  Additionally, insure calves are not starved for salt.  Make sure the calves have free-choice access to plain white salt for at least 2 weeks prior to introducing Ranch-O-Ration.

Prior to feeding Ranch-O-Ration 80:20, step-transition calves from creep feed to Ranch-O-Ration 50:50.  Each transition should be done over the course of 10-12 days. Rule of thumb:  transition in parts such as 25:75, 50:50, and 75:25, over 3-4 day intervals for each diet change.  Once calves are transitioned, offer Ranch-O-Ration in creep feeders on a free-choice basis or limit-feed by weighing amount daily. To “push harder” or for finishing purposes, transition to Ranch-O-Ration 80:20 Beef Conditioner.  Always feed along with a source of roughage and free-choice access to plain white salt.

Average daily consumption of Ranch-O-Ration should be 0.5 - 1.0 lb/100 lbs of BW, not to exceed 1% of BW.  Manually adjust creep feeders to regulate availability of product to cattle accordingly.
