14% HE SEEDSTOCK STARTER RATION w/ BIO-MOS & AVAILA
Don’t short-change your high-value bull and heifer calves! Get them started right with the 14% HE Seedstock Starter Ration w/Bio-MOS, which is a superior value-added, high-energy (HE), pelleted calf feed that provides growing calves with supplemental protein, energy, vitamins, and minerals. This pellet is intended to be blended into “starter-receiving” diets which serve as “transition rations” for the first 14-45 days that calves are introduced to a dry lot and bunk feeding. This is an excellent solution for weaned show calves, for starting bull and heifer calves, or for small “high risk” calves entering the feedlot. This pellet is formulated to balance typical receiving diets (with elevated calcium and no phosphorus added) and has comprehensive vitamin and mineral levels to enhance the immune system. Good nutrition improves the calf’s ability to handle stress, illness, and response to vaccination programs and therefore decreases morbidity.
For the prevention of coccidiosis and respiratory disease, medications approved for calves can be added to this formula on a 1-ton custom-basis.
Elevated trace mineral levels to support the immune system response against the stress and disease that will bombard calves during weaning, sales, sales, shows, transporting, etc.
Availa-4® brand of organic trace minerals (“chelated” Cu, Zn, Mn, and Co) bound to an amino acid complex to protect against mineral antagonism, improve mineral absorption, and further support immune function.
Bio-MOS: a natural yeast-based (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) product that promotes beneficial bacteria and inhibits certain pathogenic bacteria in the gut of young calves.
Yea-Sacc: Saccharomyces cerevisiae probiotic to help the small calf’s rumen develop a microbial system capable of fiber digestion and thereby enhancing dry-matter intake (DMI).
Sel-Plex: an organic source of selenium derived from yeast to help fight infection and disease.
Iodine: an elevated level of iodine to support hoof health and help prevent foot rot.
This supplement is intended to be fed to calves entering a dry-lot feeding scenario and is formulated to balance a typical receiving total mixed ration (TMR). Offer pellets at the rate of 1 lb per 100 pounds of bodyweight to calves weighing ~400-800 lbs during weaning, preconditioning, or upon arrival into a dry-lot feeding scenario. Do not feed free-choice nor exceed 10 lbs / hd / day. Always feed in addition to good-quality hay (that comprises no less than 50% of the calf’s diet). Provide plenty of fresh, clean water and plain white salt at all times. It is also recommended that Ranch-O-Lyx lick tubs be offered in the pen of newly received calves to help meet the nutrient needs of stressed calves, particularly those that are naïve to bunk feeding. Feeding outside of these recommendations may result in digestive upset (such as bloat) in young calves. Medications can be added on a custom basis.
Store product in a clean environment free of moisture, rodents, insects, and other pests. Do not feed moldy or repugnant feed. This product has been formulated specifically for cattle and is not intended for other species.
